In Memory of Don Hollingsworth

It is with great sadness that I must inform our membership of the passing of Don Hollingsworth.
Don was one of the charter members of the group that helped to form The Heartland Peony Society in 1996. Don served as the President of this society in 1999, and he continued to help us to grow into what we are today. He’s currently credited on the American Peony Society website for having hybridized or collaborated in the creation of 97 new peony cultivars, and I know there were many more that weren’t registered, including several that he was currently working on for registration this year. His warm smile & demeanor coupled with the willingness to share his vast knowledge, has touched so many people & we’ll dearly miss him. He was a true treasure, and I’m a richer person for having known him.
